Who We Are
Introduction
My name is Joy Stewart. I qualified as a counsellor in 2013 and bring a wealth of experience from working as a therapeutic social worker and a children's therapist. My reset was established in 2019 as a private practice. I am able to offer individual sessions to children and young people aged 4- 25 . I also work with adults. I work with the needs of each client in the person's best interests.
Therapy
I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor. This means I use an integration of person centered approach alongside an attachment perspective. My experience means I have also worked with children in care and adults with care experience. Sessions are also offered for the following reasons - Trauma, attachment needs, lived experience of domestic abuse, bereavement, low mood, exploring identity, school issues, family dynamics, supporting mental health needs.
Experience
I work with parents, schools, health and the local authority. I also provide meetings to support the ongoing therapeutic process.
I provide training and support for foster carers and adopters.
